Originaire de Nouvelle-Calédonie, Valérie Morignat est Maître de Conférences, réalisatrice, artiste et consultante en creativité numérique.
En 2004, Valérie Morignat fonde l'organisation culturelle actazé. Directrice d'actazé, elle conçoit et organise avec le soutien de la Mairie de Paris plusieurs colloques internationaux et participe à des actions de conseil en développement culturel et politique artistique. Elle publie régulièrement des essais sur l'art et la création numérique avancée dont elle expose les résultats lors de conférences. En qualité d'expert nouvelles technologies numériques, elle est membre de plusieurs comités scientifiques et nominateur 2007 pour le Kyoto Prize de la Fondation Inamori. Artiste, webdesigner et réalisatrice, Valérie Morignat est aussi plongeuse sous-marine et photographe subaquatique. Ses films sont régulièrement programmés sur les écrans des Festivals ou montrés dans le cadre de biennales d'art contemporain. Born in New-Caledonia, Valerie Morignat (Ph.D, Sorbonne) is an Associate Professor, filmmaker, artist and consultant in digital creativity.
In 2001, Valérie received a Doctorate (Ph.D) from the Sorbonne University in "Arts and Arts Sciences" having received the highest honors for her research. She was an assistant professor in the Fine Arts and Cultural Studies Departments of the Sorbonne for five years and also taught as a lecturer at the Arts and Technologies of Image (ATI) Department of the University Paris 8. Since 2003, she has been a permanent researcher at the Institute for Aesthetic of Arts and Technologies (IDEAT), within the Sorbonne University and the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS). She is also an Associate Professor at the Paul Valéry University, where she teaches cinema, digital arts and arts history. In 2004, Valerie founded the Non-Profit cultural Organization actazé. As Director of actazé, Valérie Morignat has been responsible for several international colloquia organized with the support of the Mairie de Paris and the National Center for Scientific Research: "Louise Michel" (2005, at the Sorbonne University), "Contemporary arts and post-colonial societies" (2006, at the Petit Palais, Musée des Beaux-Arts de la Ville de Paris). Valérie regularly publishes essays on the topics of digital cinema and interactive arts. As an expert in digital creation, she is a member of several scientific committees (including Sorbonne's IDEAC), and was chosen as a nominator for the 2007 Kyoto Prize of the Inamori Foundation. Valerie is an artist, webdesigner and filmmaker. As a professional scubadiver, she also works as an underwater photographer and shows her work regularly online and within art exhibitions. Her movies are shown at international film festivals and contemporary art fairs.
