Born in New-Caledonia in october 1974, Valerie Morignat (Sorbonne’s Ph.D) is an Associate Professor in Digital Arts & Film Studies (Université Paul Valéry). She is the President-Founder of Transmedia Consulting, advising Public Institutions and private firms.

She holds a Doctorate (Ph.D) in "Arts and Arts Sciences" from the Sorbonne University of Paris, having received the highest honors for her research. She was an assistant professor in the Fine Arts and Cultural Studies Departments of the Sorbonne for several years and taught as a lecturer at the Arts and Technologies of Image (ATI) Department of the University Paris 8.

Since 2003, she has been a permanent researcher at the Institute for Aesthetic of Arts and Technologies (IDEAT), within the Sorbonne University and the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS). She is also an Associate Professor at the Paul Valéry University, where she teaches Post-digial Cinema theory, Digital arts Aesthetics and Futurology.

Since 2010, the Southern Province of New Caledonia and its Government mandated Valérie Morignat to create a Post-Graduate Education & Research FabLab in the fields of Global Media and Digital Design which will play an important role in the digital development for the whole Southern Pacific region. >>

In the field of Digital creation, Valérie have performed Research on Visual Semiotics, Post-digital Cinema Aesthetics, Interactive Digital Entertainment, Virtual & Augmented Realities, ARG & Video Games, Transmedia Storytelling, etc. She lectures worldwide, in french and in english.

After founding the Non-Profit cultural Organization ACTAZE, organizing several international colloquia with the support of the Mairie de PARIS and the Sorbonne Universiy, Valérie Morignat founded ECLIPSE IMAGING PEOPLE, a Non-Profit cultural Organization promoting young photographers and innovation in filmmaking in the South Pacific.

As an artist and professional scubadiver, she also works as an underwater photographer and her artwork has been awarded in prestigious international photo contests.

After living in New York City and France, she today divides her time between Europe and New-Caledonia.
