ECOCINEMA : REAL PRESENCES IN VIRTUAL CINEMA
Abstract : ‘Interactive Digital Cinema incorporates immersive strategies that engage the spectator in an historical and embodied journey within virtual worlds inhabited by Intelligent Agents and pervasive smart medias. This paper discusses the specificities of an ‘ecologically situated’ digital narrativity through proposal of the ideas of ‘intersensoriality’, ‘interactantiality’ and ‘meso-narrativity’ within the context of Digital Cinema and Video Games.
In these new fictions, real persons share the ontological characteristics of fictional characters, stimulating a copernican revolution in the aesthetics of Cinema. Through interactive immersive fiction and the latest applications of Artificial Intelligence in Cinema, I will analyze how sciences, art and the humanities converge to expand livable realities. In this context, I will underscore the emergence of Interactive Cinema and collaborative fictions as autonomous and autopoïetic cognitive entities that will profoundly redesign our embodied experience.'
